Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of electrical products from raw materials to finished goods. You will work closely with Production, R&D, NPD, and Vendor Development teams to implement QA systems, drive improvements, and maintain industry compliance standards such as BIS. Key Responsibilities: - Lead QA operations for electrical products including switches, wiring accessories, and related components. - Conduct incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product validation. - Perform qualitative & quantitative testing using electrical and mechanical test equipment. - Ensure product compliance with BIS standards and coordinate with internal/external testing labs. - Maintain detailed quality documentation, test reports, SOPs, and audit records. Process & System Improvement: - Implement and improve QA processes including TQM, 5S, CAPA, and root-cause analysis. - Identify defects, deviations, and recurring issues and drive corrective & preventive actions (CAPA). - Collaborate with production teams to reduce rejection rates and improve First Pass Yield (FPY). - Support NPD teams in product validation, prototype testing, and reliability assessment. Vendor & Material Quality: - Conduct supplier audits and evaluate new vendors for material quality capability. - Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality consistency in incoming materials. - Work with procurement to resolve quality escalations and define material specifications. Team Leadership & Training: - Guide and support junior QA engineers and QC inspectors. - Train production teams on quality standards, testing procedures, defect identification, and compliance. Qualifications & Experience: - B.Tech / BE in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline. - 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC within electrical product manufacturing. - Strong understanding of switches, wiring accessories, and plastic/electrical components. - Hands-on experience with BIS standards, electrical testing, and product certification processes. - Proficiency in using quality tools (FMEA, RCA, SPC, MSA, CAPA). - Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
