Senior Project Manager / GM project Greenfield Polyester Recycling

Experience Required: 20+ years in the Chemical Industry Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Engineer to lead the execution of a greenfield project focusing on polyester waste recycling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management within the chemical industry, with a strong understanding of the technical, regulatory, and operational aspects. The role requires expertise in statutory provisions, factory regulations, labour laws, and relevant processes like filtration, distillation, and crystallization. Experience in polyester industry desirable but not essential. Upon successful completion of project, the selected person will head the production function. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Lead the execution of the greenfield polyester recycling project, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met. Process Design & Implementation: Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of key processes including filtration, distillation, and crystallization. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to statutory provisions, the Factory Act, environmental regulations, and labour laws. Coordination with Engineering Consultants: Collaborate with external engineering consultants to ensure the projects technical and design specifications are met effectively and efficiently. Liaising with Government Officials: Work closely with relevant government authorities and officials to secure necessary permits, approvals, and compliance with local and national regulations. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and government authorities, to ensure smooth execution. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, operators, and project personnel, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment. Manage budgets, resources, and contracts to ensure cost-effective project execution. Quality & Safety: Ensure all operations meet quality standards and follow best practices for safety and environmental sustainability. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, maintain accurate project documentation, and provide regular updates to senior management. Recruitment: Assist in recruitment of Engineering Personnel for the projectecosis Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or a related field. A masters degree or specialized certification in polymer science can also be considered. Minimum 20 years of experience in project execution within the chemical industry, with a strong track record of managing large-scale projects. Good working knowledge of processes such as filtration, distillation, crystallization, and waste management. Familiarity and good understanding of statutory provisions, the Factory Act, environmental laws, and labour regulations. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects in an efficient manner. Experience coordinating with engineering consultants and liaising with government authorities to secure permits and ensure project compliance. Good leadership traits, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Experience in polyester waste recycling or similar recycling/chemical manufacturing processes. Familiarity with modern project management tools and methodologies. Some knowledge of green technologies and sustainability practices.
