As a Senior Platform Engineer Vice President at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the evolution of the Reference Data Services function. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving the development of the Dart platform team, providing cloud and on-prem infrastructure to front-office developers. Your responsibilities will include platform development, stakeholder engagement, and engineering leadership across both cloud and on-prem environments. Collaboration with internal teams and front-office developers is essential, requiring an understanding of financial services data needs and organizational functions. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the engineering efforts in building, supporting, and scaling platform capabilities - Collaborate closely with internal teams and front-office developers - Develop and deploy machine learning models in collaboration with data scientists - Design and implement data architectures pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes - Manage data volumes, velocity, and security measures - Develop processing and analysis algorithms suitable for data complexity and volumes Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in software/data engineering, preferably in platform or infra roles - Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with Java is a plus - Deep experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, IAM, KMS, Api Gateway, Step Functions, MSK, and CloudFormation - Passion for hands-on work while enabling and growing a small engineering team - Additional skills valued include experience with on-prem Hadoop and Kubernetes, familiarity with cost management tools in AWS, and knowledge of how quantitative or front-office developers operate This role will be based in the Pune, India office.
