Senior Platform Engineer

You are applying for the position of Senior Platform Engineer with Autodesk's Data Platform team. Your main responsibilities will include: - Defining and aligning Data Lake and Data Warehouse usage strategies across the organization - Designing, developing, and maintaining Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions - Performing and maintaining data lake and data warehouse administration tasks, including user management, security, and performance tuning - Collaborating with data architects, business stakeholders, and other teams to understand data requirements and set up guidelines and processes - Defining cost attribution, optimization, and monitoring strategies for the data platform - Developing and maintaining data models, schemas, and database objects - Monitoring and optimizing data lake and data warehouse performance - Staying up to date with the latest developments in data platforms and related technologies - Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - 5+ years of experience in Data Platform engineering - 3+ years of hands-on experience with data lake and data warehouse - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Data Warehouse such as Snowflake - Experience with provisioning and maintenance of Spark, Presto, Kubernetes clusters - Experience in extending data platform functionalities in line with open table formats like Iceberg, metadata stores like HMS, GDC etc - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred qualifications include Snowflake Experience, experience with coding languages such as Python, familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker, and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
