Senior PHP Developer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications while mentoring junior developers and contributing to architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP applications and RESTful APIs
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices and coding standards
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering their growth and development
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
• Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and agile ceremonies
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience
• Strong expertise in modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar)
• Proficient in object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns
• Extensive experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and database optimization
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest)
• Understanding of web security best practices (OWASP, SQL injection prevention, XSS)
• Experience with Linux environments and command-line tools
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, or Angular)
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Understanding of microservices architecture
• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis)
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch or similar search technologies
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
