Job Title:

Senior Mechanical Drafter – Layout & GA Drawings (Cement Plant)

Experience:

5 to 8 years in mechanical drafting, with at least 3 years in layout & GA drawing preparation for cement plant projects.

Location:

Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare plant layout drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting tools.
• Develop detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings for mechanical equipment in cement plant projects.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with design requirements.
• Interpret equipment/vendor drawings and incorporate them into the overall layout.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety clearances, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, electrical, piping) for clash detection and layout optimization.
• Support in preparing as-built drawings after project completion.
• Maintain drawing documentation and version control.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and exposure to 3D layout tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, conveyors, silos, ducts, and structural elements in cement plants.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, P&IDs, and vendor drawings.
• Knowledge of industrial safety and clearance standards in layout planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Drafting.
• Prior experience with EPC or cement plant projects is highly preferred.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
