Job Description

Designation: Senior Assembly Technician

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Assembly

  • Assemble mechanical parts, subassemblies, and complete systems using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, fastening, and torqueing to specifications
  • Conduct functional tests and basic troubleshooting of assembled units
  • Inspect components and assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with standards
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or process issues
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
  • Follow safety procedures, 5S, and lean manufacturing practices
  • Support rework, repair, and continuous improvement activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams

In-House & Outhouse Work Coordination Responsibilities

  • Coordinate in-house assembly activities with outsourced (outhouse) manufacturing and fabrication work
  • Plan and track work allocation between internal teams and external vendors to meet production schedules
  • Communicate drawings, specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines to external vendors
  • Monitor progress of outsourced jobs and follow up on delays or issues
  • Verify outsourced components and assemblies upon receipt for quality, fit, and functionality
  • Coordinate rework or corrective actions for non-conforming outsourced parts
  • Align in-house assembly sequences with outsourced part availability
  • Maintain documentation related to outsourced and in-house work status
  • Work closely with production, procurement, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflow
