Senior Manager - Solar (O&M)

1. Role Objective

To lead and manage the operations & maintenance of solar power plants to ensure maximum plant availability, optimal performance, and safe operation. Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, preventive & corrective maintenance, contractor management, and continuous performance improvement of all Solar PV assets.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Plant Operations & Performance Management

• Ensure uninterrupted operation of solar plants with >99% grid availability.
  
• Monitor daily generation, inverter performance, PR, CUF, specific yield, and downtime.
  
• Analyze performance gaps and implement improvement actions.
  
• Lead real-time monitoring through SCADA, data loggers, and control room teams.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports with generation analysis.
  

B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Prepare and execute the annual O&M plan (AOP), PM schedule, and AMC activities.
  
• Conduct preventive maintenance of modules, inverters, transformers, HT/LT panels, trackers, and switchyard equipment.
  
• Lead corrective maintenance for breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and restore operations within the targeted MTTR.
  
• Ensure thermography, IV curve tracing, string testing, and module cleaning plan is implemented.
  

C. Safety, Statutory Compliance & Audit

• Ensure O&M activities comply with electrical safety standards, CEA guidelines, and OEM recommendations.
  
• Conduct safety toolbox talks, site audits, LOTO, and risk assessments.
  
• Maintain compliance documentation for DISCOM, SLDC, pollution control board, and statutory authorities.
  

D. Contractor & Team Management

• Supervise O&M technicians, contractors, security, and housekeeping teams.
  
• Evaluate performance of vendors/AMCs and ensure SLA compliance.
  
• Ensure adequate manpower deployment and skill development at site.
  
• Lead contractual activities including verification of RA bills, service reports, warranties and spares management.
  

E. Asset Management & Documentation

• Maintain asset health through inspections, testing, and record keeping.
  
• Ensure spare parts inventory, critical spares planning, and consumption tracking.
  
• Maintain documentation: SLDs, as-built drawings, equipment history cards, logbooks, SOPs & checklists.
  
• Lead plant upgradation initiatives (module replacement, inverter retrofits, SCADA enhancement).
  

F. Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with DISCOM, SLDC, load dispatch centers for outages & approvals.
  
• Liaise with OEMs, EPC partners, and internal asset management teams.
  
• Support commercial team for billing, energy reconciliation, and PPA compliance.
