Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Implement sourcing strategies (domestic & global) to support production and sales.
Optimize purchasing cost through alternate sourcing based on QCDMS.
Allocate PRs as per item nature and buyer competency for faster execution.
Negotiate and manage critical purchase agreements and rate contracts.
Drive clearance of pending indents, delivery follow-ups, MRN issues and payment delays.
Ensure timely adjustment of advances and debit notes with suppliers.
Monitor regular consumables to avoid line stoppage and maintain minmax stock.
Track imports, customs clearance and freight forwarder finalization for spares.
Support new product developments and ensure timely material for pilot and mass production.
Develop, evaluate and consolidate supplier base for current and future needs.
Train and guide team on market trends, commodity prices and technical understanding of items.
Conduct regular plant visits to address critical issues and understand running problems.

Preferred candidate profile

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / MBA
Plus 7-10 years experience working in Automotive Sector.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing philosophies.
Proven procurement experience with demonstrable successes in achieving targets / best practice benchmarks.
