Job Description

As an Environmental Compliance Specialist at the company, your role will involve meeting NPI Environmental Management PAT requirements as per the Target Book. This includes covering regulatory aspects and sustainability targets such as CO2 evaluation & reduction, material circularity topics, and ensuring compliance with global environmental regulations and standards for vehicle-related products. Your critical responsibilities will be to track, identify product environmental regulatory requirements, mitigate compliance risks, and contribute towards vehicle type approval and sustainability targets in the PAT book. Your key responsibilities will include: - Directly interfacing with supplier representatives to collect IMDS / REACH / ELV declarations and ensure compliance with hazardous materials environmental regulations - Creating, analyzing, and modifying Material Data Sheets (MDS) - Taking responsibility for whole vehicle type approval for environmental management and achieving sustainability PAT targets for individual programs - Continuously tracking and interpreting upcoming / existing environmental product regulations and regulated hazardous chemicals to ensure compliance for vehicle-related products - Analyzing changes in legislation, upcoming regulated hazardous substances, and assessing their impact on products, supply chains, and business operations - Conducting awareness sessions with suppliers on regulatory requirements and developing IT compliance modules to meet environmental attributes - Having basic knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and conducting LCA for complete vehicles, assemblies, and components for vehicle-level impact evaluation and hot-spot analysis - Understanding Circular Economy principles and tracking, analyzing, and evaluating recycled content at each part/assembly and vehicle level - Interpreting ESG ratings / reports and Science-based targets (Scope 1, 2 & 3) Desired Qualifications: - Bachelors in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering with 5+ years of experience in product sustainability - Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of vehicle-related product regulations - Experience in handling LCA projects, evaluating environmental impacts, and material circularity Skills & Competencies required: - Planning & Driving Execution: Ability to strategically plan and execute sustainability initiatives in alignment with PAT targets - Project Management: Skilful management of cross-functional projects focused on product sustainability - Analytical Thinking: Applying data-driven analysis to assess environmental impacts and identify improvement opportunities - Regulatory Expertise: Maintaining in-depth knowledge of global environmental regulations and driving proactive sustainability strategies - Problem Solving: Creative and systematic approach to address complex sustainability challenges and deliver practical solutions.,
