Senior Manager, Market Insights

Role Overview: As a Sr. Manager - Primary Research at the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), you will play a crucial role in leading a global, supervisory position within the Strategic Insights (SI) department. Your responsibilities will include managing primary research projects to support organizational decision-making and understanding of stakeholders, customers, markets, and trends through primary research techniques. You will autonomously manage complex research projects and collaborate with internal stakeholders to generate actionable insights. Additionally, you will oversee market research vendors, serve as a thought partner with USP leadership, and represent the Strategic Insights department professionally. Key Responsibilities: - Autonomously manage global primary market research, incorporating diverse stakeholder perspectives and applying advanced statistical analyses - Develop research plans, consult with internal business partners, monitor progress, and communicate results effectively - Acquire and manage market research vendors to ensure quality work is delivered on time and within budget - Participate in corporate planning, identify opportunities, and support business and marketing plans - Monitor industry trends and provide external perspectives for business planning - Act as a mentor to junior research staff and manage relevant roles within Insights if needed Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, with preferred majors in market research, marketing, science, business, or related social science discipline - 7+ years of experience in applying Market Research to solve strategic business problems, with 2 years of experience managing a team or mentoring junior resources - Strong business writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills - Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, online survey tools, statistical software packages - Ability to navigate through ambiguity, self-motivated, customer-focused, and excellent time and project management skills - Desired preferences include prior experience in global market research, working in regulated industries, scientific organizations, and being multi-lingual Company Details: The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is an independent scientific organization dedicated to developing quality standards for medicines, dietary supplements, and food ingredients.
