Senior Manager/ Manager - AC / DC Bop (Procurement)

Role Purpose

The Sr. Manager / Manager – AC & DC Balance of Plant (BoP) will lead procurement and supply chain operations for all AC and DC BoP components across Solar, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role includes end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, logistics planning, inventory control, and documentation while ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with technical and grid standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. AC & DC BoP Procurement

• Manage full-cycle procurement for AC & DC BoP packages, including:
  

• AC Components:

  Transformers (33/132/220kV), switchgear, outdoor kiosks, RMUs, circuit breakers, LT & HT panels, protection panels, power/control cables, SCADA interface hardware, metering systems

• DC Components:

  DC cables, connectors, junction boxes, isolators, DC protection equipment, DC panels, and other DC-side accessories
• Prepare technical and commercial bid evaluations.
  
• Issue RFQs, perform vendor negotiations, and finalize Purchase Orders, Subcontracts, and Framework Agreements.
  
• Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, electrical codes, and grid requirements.
  

2. Supply Chain Planning & Material Management

• Develop project- and site-specific Material Requirement Plans (MRP) for both AC & DC BoP items.
  
• Plan procurement schedules in alignment with overall project timelines.
  
• Track vendor manufacturing progress, review supply forecasts, and manage delivery sequencing.
  
• Coordinate staged material dispatch to avoid storage clutter and ensure smooth installation readiness.
  

3. Vendor & Manufacturing Coordination

• Collaborate with OEMs and suppliers to monitor production and ensure timely dispatch.
  
• Maintain vendor scorecards covering quality, adherence, reliability, and supply timelines.
  
• Conduct supplier audits, risk assessments, and maintain alternate vendor options to mitigate supply risks.
  

4. Logistics, Warehousing & Inventory Control

• Coordinate logistics and movement of heavy electrical equipment and DC material.
  
• Ensure proper storage conditions, handling procedures, and adherence to FIFO/LIFO principles.
  
• Oversee GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), warehouse documentation, and on-site inventory management.
  
• Manage interim storage plans and site-level distribution for AC & DC BoP components.
  

5. Technical Coordination & Documentation

• Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical specifications for both AC and DC systems.
  
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets, technical documents, FAT reports, and compliance certificates.
  
• Ensure ERP/SAP/Oracle documentation is accurately maintained.
  
• Support utility coordination for statutory, certification, and grid compliance requirements.
  

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure procurement activities align with project execution:

• Engineering & Design
  
• QA/QC

• Civil & Electrical EPC Teams
  
• Commissioning Teams
  

Ensure material delivery is aligned with foundation readiness, cable laying, erection, and commissioning schedules.
