Senior Manager - Infrastructure Procurement

About the Role:

The purpose of this position is to support non-Category procurement for flipkart central procurement team and help drive the procurement of capex with a strategic sourcing approach.  This position would be working closely with facilities and infrastructure projects related to supply chain infrastructure / warehouse such as storage racking, Mazannine and Steel requirements. 

The Position also will be responsible for implementing the commodity strategy for Steel as part of regional commodity management.

You are responsible for:-

• Define and develops commodities strategy with business leaders and drives its implementation.
• Monitor steel trend month on month with a view of past and future trend. With the trend, help organization to plan the expansion to achieve procurement at minimal cost.
• Achieve cost reduction targets through various innovative methods in sourcing. 
• Align with Global Commodity Strategy and verify possibility of implementing the same at country level.
• Ensure early involvement of suppliers at RFQ Stage, Lead the supplier selection process for identified commodities, lead the discussion with the suppliers and support the team in negotiating high value contracts with key strategic suppliers.
• Review the current contract, identify opportunities, and suggest innovative solution to optimize the TCO for each spend categories.
• Develop good knowledge and understanding about the vendor market and explore alternate solutions.
• Contribute towards Procurement process improvisation and roll-out of the systems & processes related to P2P and Contract Management.
• Help in Managing the catalogue definition and implementation.
• Applying and maximize the usage of E-Sourcing tools (e-RFx, e-Auctions, e-Contract Management, e-Procurement,) available in the organization.
• Lead the discussion on contractual terms and finalization of various agreements 

Supplier relationship management 

• Drive of the Vendor management program and vendor performance review.
• Negotiate and animates supplier objectives and performance for the commodities.
• Perform regular (min. quarterly) supplier performance review (incl. quality) with business stakeholders and solves major issues and secures objectives achievement.
• Set performance improvement target for the suppliers as part of supplier performance management.

Team management 

• Mentor the team and facilitate them with required methods for day-to-day operations. 
• Help with tools for Career planning and development of the team.
• Conducting objective / goal setting and periodic performance review for the team

Preferred candidate profile:

• BE / Engineering degree 8-12 years direct working experience related to the procurement team for medium to large organizations. . Strong experience in commodity buying as steel or similar area.
• Prior work experience supporting a Automobile, E commerce industry is a must.
• Should have good Cost Negotiation, Should Cost Modelling, Market Analysis skills.
• Exposure on Commodity based buying pan India for Capex Requirements.
