Procurement Associate

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchase Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare and manage purchase plans based on production schedules, stock levels, and consumption patterns.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, and User Departments to forecast material requirements.
• Ensure timely release of purchase requisitions and follow up for approvals.

2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

• Review MRP reports and identify material shortages or delays.
• Prioritize purchases for critical items to avoid production downtime.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support operational needs.

3. Supplier Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials as per schedule.
• Track order status, delivery timelines, and resolve supply bottlenecks.
• Support procurement team in vendor performance evaluation when needed.

4. Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of purchase plans, schedules, and material status.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on purchase planning and material availability.
• Highlight risks, shortages, and critical material updates to the Procurement Manager.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Stores for planning accuracy.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to review material readiness.

6. Compliance & Process Adherence

• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement planning.

• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Understanding of procurement processes and MRP systems
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving and time-management skills
