Description
As an Infrastructure Engineer at our global healthcare biopharma company, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the infrastructure that enables the organization's IT systems and services to run smoothly. You will work with hardware, networking, virtualization, cloud environments, and security systems to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable IT infrastructure. Your role will involve collaborating closely with software engineers, IT support teams, and system administrators to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and deliver high-quality services to end-users. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance, and effective use of specific technology services. - Follow standard approaches and established design patterns to create new designs for systems or system components. Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result. - Carry out and improve system software development and maintenance tasks by automating routine system administration tasks using standard tools and software development practices. - Contribute to the identification and prioritized adoption of Technology Engineering community practices within the products where you work. - Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the Product manager. - Participate in Product planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with Product goals. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or any Technology stream. - 7+ years of hands-on experience working with network and system administration for Linux/Unix. - Experience with Large-Scale Infrastructure Proven ability to design, deploy, and manage infrastructure that supports high availability and scalability. - Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Expertise Strong understanding of SRE principles, including defining and managing error budgets, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). - DevOps Best Practices Hands-on experience with GitHub, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management and automation using Ansible or Ansible Automation Platform, observability, and CI/CD pipelines. - Scripting and Automation Scripting languages (Bash) experience with Python or Java is an advantage. - Cloud Platform Proficiency Knowledge of AWS services and architecture; experience with Microsoft Azure is an advantage. - Operating Systems Strong Linux skills, particularly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). - Security Awareness Familiarity with cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and frameworks. - Problem-Solving Skills Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in distributed systems efficiently. - Collaboration and Communication Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure solutions. - Vendor Management Experience managing relationships and coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure timely delivery, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
