Job Description

Key Objectives:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initiation to execution, ensuring compliance with timelines, quality standards, and business goals.
  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and other business-related contracts.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure contracts align with business objectives and achieve favorable terms.
  • Provide expertise in structuring and reviewing complex commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Oversee procurement contracts, ensuring alignment with business requirements and compliance with legal standards.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks while ensuring that all contracts comply with applicable law and company policies.
  • Partner with finance, legal, sales, and procurement teams to ensure contract terms are in line with business and financial objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of all contracts, from initiation to termination. This includes drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and executing contracts across various business functions (sales, procurement, vendors, services, etc.).
  • Manage vendor contracts, ensuring that terms are aligned with business objectives and that vendor performance is tracked and optimized. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder
  • Ensure that all contracts adhere to company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements. Identify and mitigate legal and business risks associated with contracts and commercial agreements
  • Develop and maintain standardized templates for various contracts, ensuring consistency and efficiency in contract preparation and execution.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and business teams to ensure contracts align with company objectives and are structured in a way that minimizes risk.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for contract management effectiveness, ensuring timely contract renewals, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Regularly review and refine contract processes, tools, and templates, driving operational efficiency and reducing cycle times for contract execution.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum 6-12 years of experience in contract management.
  • A Law degree (LLB) or equivalent. An additional qualification such as LLM, CCLS, or other relevant certifications is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of contract law, procurement contracts, commercial agreements, and industry regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex contract negotiations and deliver optimal results for the organization.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of contract professionals. Ability to lead by example, foster collaboration, and drive performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact confidently with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex contract issues and provide practical, business-friendly solutions.
  • Familiarity with contract management systems, electronic signing tools, and other relevant technologies
