About HST Global The Helpful Smiles Technology Global Center (HST Global) in Bangalore is a division of the Hy-Vee IT team named as the Helpful Smiles Technology Centre based in the US. It supports Hy-Vee’s business growth and modernization needs by accelerating the adoption of technology across enterprise operations. The Hy-Vee team is looking to expand its capabilities in Bangalore. HST Global will serve the entire IT organization across roles and functions. Primary Responsibility System Administration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems. Security: Enforce security policies, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. Performance Tuning: Optimize system performance and resource utilization. On-Call & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex system issues. Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation. Secondary Responsibility Network Administration: Configure network devices and protocols and monitor network performance. Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies. Automation and Scripting: Automate routine tasks using scripting languages. Mentorship: Work with other teams to ensure smooth operations and knowledge transfer. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred. 6 to 8 years of experience in Linux system administration. Proven track record of managing successful Linux systems projects and teams. Experience working in a large enterprise environment, preferably in retail. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Linux systems concepts, including system architecture, security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve complex technical issues related to Linux systems.
