Position: Senior Librarian

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operations of the school library, ensuring a welcoming and resource-rich environment for students and staff.

- Develop and implement library programs and services that enhance learning and promote literacy across all grade levels.

- Curate and manage the library’s collection, including selecting, acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining resources in various formats.

- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom instruction.

- Provide guidance and support to students in research, information literacy, and the effective use of library resources.

- Organize workshops and training sessions for students and staff on library usage, digital resources, and research skills.

- Stay updated with trends in library science and education technology to continuously improve library services.

- Foster a love for reading and learning through engaging programs, events, and reading initiatives.

- Manage library budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in library science or information science from an accredited institution.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a library setting, preferably in an educational environment.

- Strong understanding of library management systems and digital resources.

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the library and school community.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with current educational technologies and digital library tools.

- Experience in developing and implementing library programs and initiatives.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
