We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Executive to join our team in the retail

sector.

The candidate will be responsible for handling legal documentation, agreements, contracts, licenses etc. ensuring the interest of the organization during negotiations on contracts, overseeing CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management), and coordinating with various departments for the work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading, vetting, reviewing, and managing retail lease agreements, vendor contracts, and franchise agreements.
• Coordinate with landlords, mall authorities, and regulatory bodies for legal clearances and compliance.
• Maintain legal documentation and track agreement renewals.
• Assist in managing litigation matters related to consumer cases, recovery suits, and in-house disputes.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings when required.
• Prepare Minutes of high level meetings , Draft MoUs for confirmation,
• Support due diligence activities for new store openings and closures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the retail sector.
• Provide legal opinions on routine commercial issues and internal policy matters.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of contract law, lease agreements, labour laws, and retail-specific regulations.
• Good drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
• Prior experience in retail, FMCG, or real estate industry preferred.
• Prior experience of Contract Drafting, Review, Negotiation etc. is compulsory.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• 38 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm handling - Corporate clients - specifically for Contracts.
• Written and verbal communication should be excellent.
