Description
As a Legal Compliance Officer, your role involves ensuring strict and proactive compliance with all Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, other applicable NBFC laws, and relevant financial services statutes. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of legal agreements with customers, vendors, partners, and other third parties to protect the company's interests. Conducting regular legal audits and reviews of vendor and partner agreements to ensure adherence to terms and regulatory requirements will be part of your duties. In case of legal disputes, you will manage litigation processes and coordinate closely with external legal counsel when necessary to represent the company's legal position. Your expertise will be sought by internal departments such as Human Resources (HR), Secretarial, and Finance teams for legal advice on various matters, policy frameworks, and compliance issues. Staying updated with evolving NBFC regulations, directives, and legal precedents will enable you to offer strategic legal insights and recommendations to the management. Identifying potential legal risks, assessing their impact, and developing mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's legal and financial interests will also be crucial responsibilities. Qualifications Required: - Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. - Experience: 3-5 years of dedicated legal experience, specifically within the NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) or Financial Services sector. - NBFC Regulatory Expertise: Strong and comprehensive grasp of NBFC regulations, RBI guidelines, and Indian corporate law relevant to the financial services industry. - Legal Skills: Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal). - Work Ethic: Demonstrated ability to perform as an independent contributor and a confident decision-maker, taking ownership of legal responsibilities.
