Description
As a Senior Lab Incharge at our clinic located in Vaduthala, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing laboratory operations. Your primary duties will include supervising lab technicians, ensuring accurate and efficient testing, managing sample collection procedures, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. You will be tasked with supervising the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all tests are conducted within specified turnaround times and in adherence to quality control measures. It will be your responsibility to enforce NABL accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, infection control practices, and waste disposal standards. Additionally, you will oversee both in-clinic and home sample collection processes, ensuring proper handling, labeling, transportation, and documentation. You will also be responsible for coordinating home sample collection schedules and providing guidance to lab technicians on effective sample collection techniques. In your role, you will lead and supervise lab technicians, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor their performance. Conducting regular training sessions on best laboratory practices, infection control, and new diagnostic techniques will be crucial. Ensuring proper documentation procedures for test results and reports will also fall under your purview. Equipment and inventory management will be another key aspect of your role. You will be required to ensure that all lab equipment is well-maintained, calibrated, and in working condition. Monitoring stock levels, managing inventory of reagents, test kits, and consumables, as well as coordinating with suppliers for timely procurement of lab materials will be essential responsibilities. Patient interaction and service quality will be an integral part of your job. You will need to ensure that patients receive accurate test reports in a timely manner and address any queries they may have regarding lab investigations and reports. Maintaining high standards of customer service and patient care will be paramount. Furthermore, maintaining records of all tests, reports, and quality control measures, preparing monthly performance reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines will be part of your documentation and reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a BSc/MSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory supervisory role. Knowledge of NABL accreditation and compliance standards is preferred, as well as strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience in home sample collection services and proficiency in lab management software and digital documentation will be advantageous.
