Job Profile Lead Java Developer

Drive the development of highly scalable and available platforms as a Lead Java Developer. In this role, you will leverage your 8-12 years of experience to design, develop, and deliver robust Java and J2EE solutions. You will mentor junior developers, lead technical teams, and integrate cutting-edge AI-assisted development tools to enhance code quality and velocity. Your expertise will be critical in shaping the future of our enterprise software environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of complex Java and J2EE applications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of Java developers.
• Champion best practices in software development, including DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted coding.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, leveraging AI to reduce development overhead.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers especially in using AI tools productively and responsibly.
• Integrate and leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, CodeWhisperer) to improve code quality and development speed.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in software engineering and AI-augmented development.
• Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and business stakeholders to define and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or an equivalent in Computer Science.
• 8-12 years of experience designing and developing Java and J2EE applications in an enterprise environment.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services (REST), and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redis, relational databases (PostgreSQL), and NoSQL databases (Cassandra).
• Solid understanding of design patterns (J2EE and GOF) and UML.
• Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with open-source tools and technologies.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, ChatGPT) in real-world projects.
• Experience with prompt engineering or building LLM-powered apps is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong consulting skills and a proven track record of successful consulting engagements.
