Job Description

As a Design Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, your role will involve developing and reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for instrumentation and control systems. You will need to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting detailed engineering calculations and analyses for instrument sizing, signal and control cable sizing, control valve selection, DCS specification, and safety instrumented systems. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate instrumentation systems with project objectives effectively. - Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, focusing on Hookup & BOQ preparation. - Participating in vendor evaluations, selection, and coordination for instrumentation components and systems. - Ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in all instrumentation and control engineering activities. - Calculating man-hours and evaluating bids in compliance with RFQs. In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and skills: - Extensive knowledge and experience in instrumentation engineering, including instrumentation design and control systems. - Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, SPI-INTOOLS, and AVEVA Inst.Module. - Experience with DCS systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson) and SCADA systems, along with conducting FAT & SAT individually at client locations. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively analyze complex technical issues and propose solutions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors. - Leadership and project management skills to lead projects, manage resources, and deliver results within project timelines and budgets. - Familiarity with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) standards and regulations would be a plus. If based on job requirements, you may be deputed at the site to assist in Commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
