Freelance/Contract Senior IFRS Group Accountant We are looking for a technically skilled and client-focused IFRS Group Accounting Expert to join our Group Accounting Advisory team. In this role, you will support clients in the preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements, offer guidance on complex accounting issues, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality advisory projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in IFRS group accounting and a passion for working in a consulting environment. This is a fully remote opportunity with flexible working hours (approx. 5–10 hours per week / 20–30 hours per month). Key Responsibilities: Set up and manage intercompany eliminations and intercompany allocations in Excel Prepare IFRS consolidated financial statements for small- and medium size groups in the healthcare, manufacturing, software and trade sector Prepare IFRS special purpose financial statement (reporting packages) for subsidiaries of multinational groups in the healthcare, manufacturing, software and trade sector Lead or assist with group reporting processes including consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and financial disclosures Advise clients on technical IFRS issues, including new standard implementation (e.g. IFRS 15, 16, 9), accounting policy alignment, and complex transactions (e.g. M&A, restructuring, deconsolidation) Prepare technical accounting memos, documentation and reconciliations in line with client and auditor expectations Design, build, and tailor group consolidation models in Excel for international (sub-) groups with head office in the Europe Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation schedules in accordance with IFRS Address complex accounting issues, e.g., currency translation adjustments (CTA), business combinations, goodwill accounting, etc. Support internal stakeholders and client teams with the preparation of IFRS notes disclosures Required Qualifications: Professional qualification in accounting (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) and degree in accounting. Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in accounting At least 3 years experience in IFRS group accounting, in a consolidation or accounting advisory role and proven experience in preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS Proven experience in accounting, consolidation and financial reporting for small-/mid-size international groups (3–20 entities, up to CHF/EUR 500M revenue) Deep knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, group accounting policies, consolidation mechanics, goodwill accounting and purchase price allocation Excellent skills in Excel, including complex formulas and structure design Strong attention to detail and hands-on approach Familiarity and willingness to learn working with LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and AI agents Comfortable dealing with documents in German language and using translation software Experience working with clients in a professional services environment (e.g. Big 4 or similar advisory/consulting firm) is highly desirable Contract Details: Type: Freelance or Contract Location: Fully remote Schedule: Flexible (self-managed), approx. 5–10 hours/week or 20–30 hours/month Duration: Ongoing, project-based support Payment: Hourly rate based on the freelancer's location Interview Process Submit Your Application: Please submit your CV along with a brief (2-3 sentence) description or statement outlining your proficiency in IFRS Group Accounting Initial Review: We will review your application and notify you of our decision within 3 business days Online Interview: If your application is shortlisted, we will schedule an online interview via MS Teams.
