Senior Group Leader - Agro Formulation & Product Development

We are seeking a highly accomplished Group Leader Agro Formulation to lead end-to-end formulation research and development activities for agrochemical products. This senior leadership role requires deep technical expertise in Agro-formulations, strong project and people management skills, and a proven history of successful product commercialization. The incumbent will oversee the complete product lifecycle—from concept and R&D through scale-up, regulatory support, and market launch—while mentoring teams and driving innovation.

Skill / Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• 15+ years of industrial experience in agrochemical or related product formulation development.
• Demonstrated success in product commercialization and lifecycle management.
• Prior experience in leading teams and managing large, cross-functional R&D projects.
• Strong expertise in formulation chemistry, including surfactants, polymers, colloids, and active ingredients.
• Proficiency in analytical and characterization techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, particle size analysis, and rheology.
• Hands-on experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical data analysis.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and people management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and industry trends.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead Formulation Development:

  Drive the design, development, and optimization of diverse agrochemical formulations (e.g., Suspension Concentrates (SC), Water Dispersible Granules (WDG), Oil Dispersions (OD), Emulsions in Water (EW), etc.) to meet specific biological, regulatory, and market criteria.

• Project and Team Management:

  Lead and prioritize multiple complex R&D projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines. This includes mentoring and coaching junior scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.

• Scale-Up and Manufacturing Support:

  Oversee the seamless technology transfer of newly developed products from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial manufacturing scale, collaborating closely with engineering and production teams.

• Quality and Regulatory Compliance:

  Ensure all formulations and processes comply with relevant industry standards and national/international regulations (e.g., EPA guidelines, cGMP, GLP). This includes preparing and reviewing extensive technical documentation and regulatory submissions.

• Innovation and IP Strategy:

  Actively pursue opportunities for innovation, identify proprietary advantages, and coordinate with legal partners for the protection of intellectual property and patent filings.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  Serve as a subject matter expert, effectively communicating complex scientific findings and project progress to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management, marketing, and external partners.

• Troubleshooting and Optimization:

  Utilize extensive experience to troubleshoot complex formulation or manufacturing issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
