Senior Game Designer

Role Overview: As a Senior Game Designer focused on Gameplay at LightFury, you will be responsible for driving the design of core batting, bowling, and fielding systems for the genre-defining sports title E-Cricket. Your main mission is to create responsive, strategic, and expressive core gameplay loops that cater to a wide range of players, from casual to competitive pros. This role is foundational within a passionate and fast-moving team. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design for core moment-to-moment gameplay loops, focusing on Character, Controls, and Camera (3C) principles - Ensure intuitive, weighty, and satisfying actions across batting, bowling, fielding, and running between wickets - Design for multiple input systems and difficulty tiers to accommodate all player types - Create gameplay systems that are readable, responsive, and rewarding, whether based on real-world dynamics or imagined scenarios - Design and tune shot timing, ball trajectory prediction, delivery types, pitching logic, reaction systems, and player stamina/fatigue models - Collaborate with data, animation, and UX teams to ensure fluid and responsive gameplay systems - Produce detailed feature specs, moment-to-moment flows, and drive prototyping and tuning passes - Balance authenticity with accessibility, ensuring depth is optional and not mandatory for all player types - Mentor junior designers on gameplay principles and system cohesion - Actively playtest, iterate, and advocate for gameplay excellence Qualification Required: - Senior-level Game Designer with 7+ years of hands-on gameplay systems experience in shipped mobile or console titles - Strategic thinker who values clarity of design, speed of execution, and creative risk-taking - Ability to prioritize ruthlessly, work within constraints, and document tradeoffs clearly - Proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Unreal Engine, Miro, Figma, Notion, and Google Sheets - Bonus points for experience working on sports games, familiarity with trait-based AI, physics-driven interaction, or personal history with cricket Company Details: LightFury is a premier AAA game development company in India, driven by a passion for gaming and innovation.
