Job Description

As a Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer with 7-10 years of experience, your role will involve conducting advanced rock mechanics analyses, providing expert consulting services, and contributing to projects from conceptual design through construction. You are expected to have a strong understanding of rock mechanics principles, a proven track record in underground and slope stability projects, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct and supervise comprehensive geotechnical investigations, interpreting rock mass properties such as strength and deformation characteristics. - Design and recommend suitable ground support systems for underground projects, tunnels, and slopes. - Perform numerical modelling and simulations using industry software. - Assess and monitor ground stability during all construction phases. - Evaluate and mitigate rockfall hazards, including designing and implementing protection measures. - Prepare detailed technical reports including geotechnical assessments, risk analyses, and mitigation recommendations. - Conduct field inspections and oversee ground support systems installation. - Travel to the Middle East for site supervision tasks. - Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and advancements in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering. - Provide technical support and guidance throughout project phases and actively participate in proposal development and marketing efforts. Experience: - Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering, or related fields. - Proven experience in designing and analyzing underground projects, tunnelling, and slope stability projects is essential. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. - Master's degree in Geological Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred. Technical Skills: - Expertise in rock mechanics modelling and finite element method (FEM) simulations. - Proficiency in GIS software for spatial analysis and mapping. - Strong understanding of rock mechanics principles, stress analysis, failure criteria, and rock mass classification systems. - In-depth knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques and instrumentation. - Expertise in designing and implementing ground support systems. - Proficiency in relevant software packages such as RocScience, AutoCAD, Slide, and RS2/RS3. Soft Skills: - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong written and verbal communication and reporting skills. - Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients.,
