Senior Engineer - Quality (Plastic Paintshop)

• Oversee quality of painted parts (primer, base, clear coat).
• Conduct paint parameter checks: film thickness, gloss, adhesion, color shade, DOI, orange peel, flow.
• Identify paint defects (dust, runs, sags, pinholes, fish eyes, craters) and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Validate paint booth environmental controls (temperature, humidity, air balance).
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC.
• Implement process improvements, poka-yoke, and defect-prevention methodologies.
• Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance & suppliers for closure of recurring issues.
• Conduct in-process audits, 5S audits, and paint process compliance checks.
• Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Verify calibration and upkeep of quality instruments (spectrophotometer, thickness gauges, viscometer, etc.).
• Manage customer complaints and ensure timely submission of corrective action reports (8D).
• Participate in customer audits and new product validation.
• Conduct supplier evaluations & audits for molded and painted parts.
• Maintain inspection reports, control plans, PFMEA, SOPs, and quality records.
• Track and report quality KPIs: PPM, FPY, rejection rate, COPQ.
• Prepare MIS and participate in quality review meetings.
• Train operators and inspectors on paint defects, inspection standards, and quality tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement culture

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
