Job Description

Senior Engineer / Project Manager – Electrical (LT/HT Line Shifting Projects)

Key Responsibilities & Duties1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Plan and manage LT (Low Tension) and HT (High Tension) line shifting works.
  • Prepare project schedules, work methodology, and execution plans.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects as per approved drawings and scope.

2. Coordination & Liaison

  • Coordinate with Electricity Boards / DISCOM / Utility authorities for approvals, shutdowns, and inspections.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and site supervisors.

3. Technical Responsibilities

  • Review electrical drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Ensure proper erection of poles, conductors, transformers, cables, and accessories.
  • Supervise stringing, sagging, jointing, testing, and commissioning of LT/HT lines.

4. Safety & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct site safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Implement quality control procedures and inspections.

5. Cost & Resource Management

  • Monitor project costs and control budgets.
  • Manage manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently.
  • Verify contractor bills, measurements, and work progress.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain project documentation, permits, and test reports.
  • Handle completion certificates and handover documents.

7. Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Resolve site issues related to technical, safety, or coordination matters.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of LT/HT systems (11kV / 33kV or above preferred)

Experience

  • 5–10 years (or as required) in electrical line shifting, distribution, or infrastructure projects
