We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of Coolant Pipes & Hoses for Cooling System Installation across ICE platforms (Diesel, CNG, LNG, H ) for the European market. This role combines deep technical expertise in thermal management with cross-functional collaboration, customer focus, and leadership responsibilities driving the development of efficient, sustainable, and reliable cooling solutions for heavy-duty vehicles.

Job Profile:
As a Senior Engineer for the coolant system, you will be responsible for meeting the coolant routing requirements for systems within the vehicle. Main systems for routing include

- Engine cooling circuit
- Transmission Cooling Circuit
- Retarder Cooling Circuit
- Urea Heating Circuit
- Cab Heating Circuit
- You will design & develop multiple concepts for routing, pipes & hoses in CAD tool along with mounting arrangement for CAD visualization and Drawing & BOM release.
- You will interact closely with Powertrain department & Thermal management engineers and cross-functional teams (XFT) to understand Routing requirements, System Architecture.
- Define and drive design requirements, virtual verification, and validation of different components in coolant Pipes & Hoses sub system in multiple projects at a time, w.r.t QDCFS.
- Lead and perform the FMEAs, DVP, and other quality tools for components and systems to ensure proactive quality.
- Drive, and secure design approval from all stakeholders, mainly suppliers, assembly and aftermarket by balancing the needs of XFT, while keeping the customer needs at forefront.
- Review the test data & approve /recommend approval of the test reports for conformance to the requirements.
- You will interface and present the coolant system level development status, risks & mitigation plans to the project team.

- Evaluate the field complaints / market issues concerning the performance of the coolant system and derive the root cause at system / component levels by analyzing the failures.
- Contribute to the technology roadmap for coolant system & components for defined products by collecting the inputs and requirements from the needed stakeholders.
- Add value to the business with innovation, process efficiency, automation and many more initiatives. Contribute to Team and department goals in various activities.
- In your role you shall also interact and work with global teams for the coolant system & components and represent Bangalore team /site in the defined global forums.
- Technical mentoring and competency development of the team members, driving high engagement, upholding high standards along with the reporting manager is part of this profile.
Qualification and professional skills:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as BE/BTech/M. Tech/MS is required. While having 8+ years of experience is typical, recruitment will primarily be based on competency.
- Expertise in thermal management with high level of proficiency in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Experience in the powertrain installation areas and understanding for the vehicle aggregate cooling & heating requirements.
- Overall vehicle level knowledge, understanding of different markets, awareness of legal requirement at system, vehicle level and exposure to customers in field
- In depth knowledge of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with action-oriented mindset.
- Experience in developing DFMEA and other quality tools.
- Ability to assign tasks and demand deliverables from team, peers, and cross functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience in CREO tool, 1-D simulation tools. Hot spot related simulations and tool knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Customer centric mindset and strong sense of engineering ownership in deliverables.
- Knowledge of agile working methodology is desrirable
