Senior Electrical Technician

Role Overview: You will be responsible for performing installation, testing, and commissioning of power and control systems onboard marine vessels and offshore platforms. Your role will involve executing power and control cable termination, glanding, dressing, and proper routing in accordance with marine electrical standards. You will also be required to read, interpret, and work from control and power drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics. Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), and distribution panels will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will carry out insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and functional testing of cables and equipment. Supporting the installation of marine electrical equipment including transformers, motors, generators, and control panels is also expected. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, class society requirements, and marine electrical codes will be crucial. Collaboration with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to ensure timely completion of projects is essential. Proper documentation of work progress, test reports, and as-built drawings will also be part of your duties.
