Senior Design Manager

As a Senior Design Manager at SAN Automotive, you will play a critical role in leading the design and engineering team to develop tooling and components for sheet metal stamping and metal fabrication processes. Your responsibilities will include managing design projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that product designs are both innovative and manufacturable. You will have the opportunity to work closely with customers, mentor junior designers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet industry standards and customer specifications. You will lead the design and development of sheet metal components for automotive and non-automotive industries, managing a team of design engineers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. Your role will involve close collaboration with internal teams such as production, quality, and NPD to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and maintain high-quality standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing detailed drawings, selecting materials, managing design changes, and conducting design reviews with OEM and Tier 1 customers. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 10-12 years of experience in design engineering focusing on sheet metal stamping and metal fabrication. Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of product design and materials for the automotive industry, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential qualifications. You should also demonstrate the ability to work with customers, drive continuous improvement, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
