Senior Design Engineer

Job Summary: Jaydu India Private Ltd is looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in sheet metal design, preferably with an automotive background. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and assemblies while ensuring compliance with industry standards and manufacturing best practices. This position requires a combination of technical proficiency, creativity, and problem-solving skills to drive innovation and efficiency in mechanical designs. Key Responsibilities: Design & develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools. Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing. Work extensively with sheet metal design, fabrication, and assembly techniques. Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements. Support prototype development and testing to verify design feasibility and performance. Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, weight reduction, and performance improvements. Troubleshoot design and production challenges efficiently. Maintain and manage engineering documentation, revisions, and design history. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive industry. Proficiency in Solid works software for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drafting. Strong understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication, and welding techniques. Knowledge of automotive components, materials, and manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Familiarity with PLM & ERP systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with manufacturing processes such as: Sheet metal fabrication, Injection molding, Roto Molding, Machining Proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheet metal). Knowledge of Drawing standards. Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.
