Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL/Oracle – GCP Cloud)

About the Role

Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

This role requires not only technical excellence in PostgreSQL/AlloyDB but also the ability to drive database transformation initiatives, optimize performance, and ensure database reliability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute

  full lifecycle database migration projects

  from Oracle to PostgreSQL in

  GCP Cloud

  .
• Administer, monitor, and optimize

  PostgreSQL and AlloyDB

  clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies in line with enterprise standards.
  
• Perform database tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and partitioning for large-scale workloads.
  
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices for

  data governance

  across multi-database environments.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support data-driven applications and analytics.
  
• Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing within the DBA team.
  

Key Requirements

• 12+ years of experience

  in database administration, with strong expertise in

  Oracle and PostgreSQL

  .
• Must have started as an

  Oracle DBA

  and currently working as a

  PostgreSQL DBA

  in a cloud-native environment.

• Hands-on experience with GCP Cloud

  (must) and

  AlloyDB

  (preferred; willingness to adopt if not yet experienced).
• Proven track record of leading at least

  1–2 full lifecycle database migration projects

  from Oracle to PostgreSQL on GCP.
• Strong knowledge of

  database performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and clustering

  .
• Flexibility to work with other databases such as

  MySQL

  and emerging database technologies.
• Solid understanding of

  security, backup/recovery, and HA/DR solutions

  in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders and present technical solutions clearly.
  

Good to Have

• Knowledge of

  Kubernetes, Terraform, or automation frameworks

  for database provisioning.
• Exposure to

  BigQuery, Dataflow, or other GCP data services

  .
• Experience with

  multi-cloud database migration strategies

  .
