Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Oracle/SQL-related incidents, changes, problems, and service requests.

• Install, maintain, and support databases, including Oracle GoldenGate replication, Data Guard, RMAN backup, SQL Server maintenance, Always On setup, RAC & standalone grid infrastructure on Azure.

• Monitor and report on database health using tools such as SolarWinds & OEM; perform daily health checks and resolve issues proactively.

• Resolve or escalate incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.

• Ensure database change communications and procedures follow the Cubic change control framework.

• Address performance issues, implement fixes, and provide recommendations to avoid customer impact.

• Create and maintain clear, accurate, and comprehensive database documentation.

• Take ownership of customer project deliverables.

• Provide 3rd line support, including on-call and out-of-hours support for critical incidents.

• Adhere to company values, policies, security, quality, and occupational health & safety standards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management when reasonably required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.

• 6+ years of experience in Database Administration.

• Expertise in Oracle & SQL Server RDBMS, RAC and standalone installations, GoldenGate replication, Data Guard, RMAN backup & recovery, Always On setup, patching, and security remediation.

• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, OGG, OEM, and SQL Server.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills with effective and timely resolution capability.

• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to new tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, share knowledge, and collaborate effectively.
