Position Overview

Security Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, design, and implement security solutions across

  Windows Server

  and

  Active Directory

  environments.
• Configure, deploy, and manage

  Microsoft Defender suite

  (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365, and Defender XDR).
• Perform

  AD security hardening

  , GPO management, and identity protection.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, security posture reviews, and provide remediation recommendations.
  
• Monitor and respond to security events/incidents using Defender tools and other SIEM solutions.
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and compliance teams to ensure end-to-end security.
  
• Provide

  consultative guidance

  to clients on security best practices, regulatory compliance, and incident response.
• Document solutions, create runbooks, and deliver knowledge transfer to client teams.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Windows Active Directory

  (design, administration, hardening, troubleshooting).
• Expertise in

  Windows Server

  including patching, security baselines, and role-based configurations.
• Solid knowledge of

  Microsoft Defender Suite

  including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and integration with Microsoft Security Center.
• Understanding of

  identity and access management (IAM)

  and authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, etc.).
• Experience with

  incident response, threat detection, and remediation

  in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with

  SIEM solutions

  (Microsoft Sentinel or similar) for monitoring and alerting.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls).
  
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as

  SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, or MS-500

  .
• Experience with

  hybrid AD/Azure AD

  environments.
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
  
• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell) for automation and reporting.
