Job Description

Role Overview: As an International Consultant at WSP India, you will support the WSP UK International ESG transactions and strategy advisory team in conducting international ESG due diligence and ESIA projects for various financial and industrial clients. Your responsibilities will include managing the delivery of major international ESDD projects, defining corrective action plans, assisting clients in meeting international lender standards, and supporting the development of environmental and social management systems. You will work on projects located in developing countries across South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with potential travel opportunities for on-site audits, monitoring, and training. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the delivery of major international ESDD projects, including identifying mitigation measures, preparing E&S management plans, and providing E&S monitoring services for private sector clients and international funders. - Define appropriate corrective action plans and measures for follow-up verification. - Assist clients in meeting international lender standards and advise on international best practices in E&S performance. - Support the development and implementation of environmental and social management systems. - Stay updated on international E&S standards such as Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements, and World Bank EHS Guidelines. - Collaborate with WSP's international environmental and ESG due diligence teams to manage and develop service quality. - Work with project Associates within countries and regions of operation. - Deliver work through well-written reports and presentations to clients. - Provide technical support to team members for identifying and managing E&S risks. - Prepare marketing materials and proposals as required. Qualifications Required: - A primary degree in a relevant subject such as environmental science, E&S studies, sustainability, social sciences, or HSE, supported by relevant experience. A secondary/post-graduate qualification like an MSc or MEng would be highly desirable. - Understanding of key E&S due diligence concepts and their application. - Experience in conducting E&S due diligence reviews, ESIAs, and construction monitoring for infrastructure projects. - Proven experience in providing E&S management services to international lenders involved in project finance processes. - Client-focused with excellent communication skills in English. - Ability to provide high-level advice at short notice. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with IT literacy for report writing. - Experience of working internationally and willingness to undertake international trips. - Good interpersonal skills, project management skills, and ability to work cross-culturally in an international environment.,
