Position summary The role is for the Climate Change & Decarbonisation vertical of CCaSS, with focus on the financial services sector. Within this, the Senior will be expected to contribute to engagements on climate change advisory and strategy, climate change analytics, climate risk stress testing, transition & physical risk assessment, net zero emissions alignment (in line with recognised frameworks such as SBTi), decarbonisation strategies and climate related reporting. The Senior will be responsible for leading Staff and working closely with Managers on client engagements globally. The role requires analytical and problem-solving capabilities along with well-developed communication skills. A basic understanding of climate change & decarbonisation in the context of financial services is also required. While the Senior will be based out of our Gurgaon / Noida / Bangalore / Mumbai / Pune / Kolkata / Hyderabad offices, the individual will be required to travel to other Countries (short term) for executing client engagements. This role will provide opportunities to work on advisory engagements requiring application of problem-solving skills to solve client issues. It will also enable the Senior to develop strong subject matter expertise in climate change and sustainability, which are some of the leading focus areas globally for clients and associated stakeholders. Primary responsibilities Support execution of global, complex, and high-profile projects related to climate change and decarbonisation solutions Collaborate with global engagement managers and project teams on allocated assignments/ workstreams Work on development of business advisory and analytical approaches for assessing transition risk, physical risk, net zero emissions alignment & ESG scoring, and preparation of climate change roadmaps for clients Contribute on projects related to SBTi target setting and validation, GHG estimation and non-financial reporting Communicate and present results and analysis to internal and external stakeholders at all project phases Maintain detailed knowledge of global sustainability regulations and awareness of market trends, competitor activity and offerings Qualifications, skills, and experience Graduate or post-graduate degree in business administration, engineering, commerce, or science from reputed institutes 3-6 years of experience in financial services, consulting, research and/ or climate change, environment, and sustainability related areas Strong and demonstrable advisory, problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication and presentation skills Excellent MS Excel (or any other data management tools/ technologies such as VBA, R, Python) and MS PowerPoint skills Understanding of climate change related terminology and basic understanding of TCFD, GRI, SASB etc. standards Knowledge of climate risk modelling (methodology for assessing Transition risk, Physical Risk and Paris Pathway alignment) is a plus Understanding of ESG data, KPIs, data vendors and service providers is a plus Certifications in climate change, environment, and sustainability related areas from GRI, SASB, GARP, CDP etc. are a plus CFA/ FRM certifications are a plus Characteristics we seek include Team-player attitude with collaborative instincts and strong interpersonal skills Action-oriented approach and willingness to contribute in a hands-on way Intellectual curiosity and a self-determined drive to achieve superior performance Unquestioned integrity and the highest ethical standards Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
