Job Summary:

The Senior Chemist will lead formulation development, quality control, and process optimization for our private-label skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members while ensuring compliance with industry standards

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation Development: Design, test, and optimize new and existing formulations for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products Quality Control & Testing: Conduct stability testing, raw material evaluation, and batch consistency checks to ensure product efficacy and safety Regulatory Compliance: Ensure formulations meet FDA, ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements in R&D and manufacturing processes Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, production, and suppliers to align formulations with client needs and industry trends Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and SOPs Mentorship: Guide junior chemists and lab technicians in best practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Hard Skills:

Expertise in cosmetic chemistry, emulsion systems, surfactants, and active ingredients for skin care/oral care Proficiency in HPLC, FTIR, rheology testing, and other analytical techniques Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, GMP) Experience with scale-up from lab to production

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Leadership and mentorship skills Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor s/Master s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field Certifications (preferred): SCC (Society of Cosmetic Chemists), ISO/GMP training

Preferred Experience:

5+ years in cosmetic/skin care/oral care formulation (private label experience a plus) Proven track record in successful product development and commercialization
