Job Description

As a Senior Category Manager for Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) in the Transformers Business at Hitachi Energy in Vadodara, India, you will play a crucial role in negotiating price and service level agreements to ensure the best quality, reliability, lead time, and total cost for all investments. Your ability to collaborate with stakeholders and lead negotiations for CAPEX investments in the APMEA HUB will be key in sustaining a growing environment. You will also be responsible for activities related to analytics & market intelligence, sourcing, supplier management, and execution to drive operational efficiency and strategic deployment actions. Here's how you will make an impact: - **Analytics & Market Intelligence:** - Gather and analyze detailed factory requirements for operational efficiency. - Conduct benchmarking of machines and equipment within India and other HUBs or Business Units (BUs) to maintain industry standards. - Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and perform "should costing" analysis for optimal procurement decisions. - **Sourcing Activities:** - Lead negotiations for framework and service level agreements with suppliers. - Drive the execution and delivery of strategic deployment actions, ensuring effective follow-up with key stakeholders. - **Supplier Management:** - Oversee and maintain strong supplier relationships within the designated category. - Lead supplier qualification processes, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate audits. - Perform Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE) to assess and enhance supplier reliability. - Identify potential new suppliers to strengthen sourcing strategies. - Implement and adhere to Supply Chain Management (SCM) standards within the area of responsibility. - **Execution:** - Work closely with operations to ensure business continuity and seamless project execution. Your background should include: - Bachelor or Diploma degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering. - 10+ years of relevant experience in Capex Category or Supply Chain Management. - Experience in transformer or automotive industry is a plus. - Proven negotiation and contract management skills. - Knowledge of machines used in transformer production. - Proficiency in ISO standards, sustainability goals, and supply chain processes. This position offers relocation based on candidates" eligibility.
