Job Description

Role Overview: As a Senior BizOps Engineer at Mastercard Open Banking BizOps team, your primary responsibility will be to help solve problems, build the CI/CD pipeline, and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices. You will play a crucial role in the DevOps transformation by partnering with developers to design, implement, and support technology services. Your focus will be on operational criteria like system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing, and deployment automation. Key Responsibilities: - Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services, from inception to design, deployment, operation, and refinement. - Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns. - Support services before going live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews. - Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. - Scale systems sustainably through automation mechanisms and push for changes that improve reliability and velocity. - Support the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments and lead in DevOps automation and best practices. - Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems. - Take a holistic approach to problem-solving during production events by optimizing mean time to recover. - Collaborate with a global team across multiple geographies and time zones. - Share knowledge and mentor junior resources. Qualifications: - BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience. - Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design. - Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, ownership, and drive. - Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks. - Experience in dealing with difficult situations, making decisions with urgency, and working with multiple stakeholders. - Preferred experience in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby. - Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. - Familiarity with industry-standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef. - Experience in designing and implementing an efficient CI/CD flow for high-quality code deployment with minimal manual effort.
