Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Architect - Life Sciences - Consultant with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
The Role
- Core competency in Architectural designs and should have ability and hands on experience to work on schematic/statutory/ working drawings/schedule.
- Should have good experience in pharma facility site master plan layouts
- Should have hands on experience in developing various pharma facility layouts for API, Formulation, Fill Finish, Vaccines & Warehouses (Raw & FG)
- Exceptional knowledge in the design of pharmaceutical and bio-tech manufacturing in line with FDA guidelines and laboratory facilities is preferred
- Expert understanding of building materials and systems, methods of construction and the integration of building services, structure, building core and envelope elements
- Good knowledge of Architectural BOQ & specifications for pharmaceutical projects.
- Good experience with Clean Room design and Pharma equipment, aware of Clean Design Standards under cGMP regulations and clean room details.
- Shall have knowledge of statutory regulations, LEEDs certifications requirements and sustainability related design concepts/requirements.
- Hands on experience on proposal estimate including man hour estimate, Cost & Quantity estimate
- Should have experience in constructability review.

B.Arch. / M.Arch . Registered with Council of Architecture
Years of experience: 20Yrs-25Yrs
- Graduate Architect with a minimum of 20 years experience in handling Architecture projects.
- Major experience (more than 15 years) should be Life Science, Pharmaceutical, CGMP & FMCG Projects.
- Shall be conversant with National & International Building codes and standards.
- Experience in PMC role handling Life Science works independently is essential.
- Work exposure to Revit /BIM 360 and discipline software such as Revit Arch, Sketchup, AutoCAD.
- Master degree in Arch is optional.
The key objectives for this role are:
- Facade & Fenestration, Interiors, Sanitation and plumbing conceptualization to detail engineering including options for look and feel, walkthroughs, presentations etc.
- Conceptualization, preparation of various options meeting the standard.
- Techno commercial evaluation of various options and recommending / finalizing the option to be adopted for the project.
- Preparation of Design Basis Report.
- Planning / guiding a team of Revit modelers in developing BIM models meeting LOD 100 to 350 requirements during various phases of the projects.
- Reviewing the model/ensuring quality control on the model / guiding the modelers in extracting layouts from the 3D model like Architectural Plans, elevations, sections, plumbing drawings.
- Preparation of cost estimation for architectural part of the project.
- Procurement assistance like providing technical clarifications. Participating in a pre-bid / post bid meeting /technical bid analysis/preparation or order specification.
- Providing clarification to request for Information from site during construction.
- Coordination with various stake holders like Client/ various internal disciplines Iike projects / electrical /mechanical / architect / civil /vendors for effective engineering management.
- Attending internal meeting & model review with client.
- Ensuring all deliverables comply with quality as per Wood /Client/Project/Code specifications & standards.
- Review of vendor drawings/other discipline drawings.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and validation.
- Design cleanrooms with appropriate classifications and environmental monitoring.
