About The Role

What You'll Be Doing

Character Rigging and Animation:

• Create and manage 2D character rigs using Spine
• Animate characters, objects, and effects for various game projects, ensuring smooth and fluid motion
• Develop high-quality animations including idle, walk cycles, attacks, and other character-specific actions
  

Collaboration

• Work closely with the PM and Leads to understand project requirements and deliver animations that align with the game's artistic vision
• Collaborate with developers to ensure animations are correctly integrated and function as intended within the game engine
  

Technical Proficiency

• Utilize Spine’s features and tools efficiently to produce animations that meet the project’s technical constraints
• Troubleshoot and solve any animation-related technical issues that arise during production
  

Feedback And Iteration

• Receive and implement feedback from leads, PM, and stakeholders to refine and improve animations
• Participate in animation reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
  

Documentation And Organization

• Maintain organized project files and documentation to ensure a streamlined workflow
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new animation techniques to continuously improve skills and workflows
  

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in character animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in Spine animation software.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, and anticipation.
• Experience with 2D animation pipelines and integration into game engines.
• Ability to create expressive and dynamic animations that enhance the user experience.
• Knowledge of graphic design skills, particularly with Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Basic understanding of game development processes and constraints.
• Optimising assets without losing the quality of visuals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
  

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Experience with other animation tools such as After Effects.
• Understanding of character design and illustration.
