Senior Analytics Engineer

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Snowflake, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining data infrastructure for the Finance organization, contributing directly to Snowflake's success. Your responsibilities will include: - Utilizing SQL, Python, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and other systems within an agile development model to build and maintain data infrastructure for reporting, analysis, and automation. - Conducting data QA and creating automated testing procedures for Snowflake data models. - Translating reporting, analysis, and automation requirements into data model specifications. - Collaborating with IT and technical stakeholders to extract data from business systems and Snowflake databases. - Designing flexible and high-performance data models to support various use cases and promote single sources of truth. - Providing insights into data governance strategies, including permissions, security models, data lineage systems, and definitions. - Engaging with Finance BI and technical leads to define requirements, project plans, and perform user testing and QA. - Developing and managing user-friendly documentation for data models and key metrics. - Identifying and addressing weaknesses in processes, data, and systems to drive improvements within the Analytics Engineering team. To excel in this role, you will need: - 5+ years of experience as an analytics, data, or BI engineer. - Proficiency in advanced SQL skills for standardizing queries and building data infrastructure with large-scale relational datasets. - Hands-on experience using Python for data parsing, structuring, and transformation. - Familiarity with MPP databases like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar technologies. - Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment. - Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail and quality. - Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including international time zones. - Experience with Excel, ERP, Salesforce, and Financial Planning tools.
