Semiconductor Physics & Quantum Computing Engineer


Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop semiconductor devices for quantum computing applications.
  • Apply principles of solid-state physics, quantum mechanics, and electronic device theory to model and optimize qubits, transistors, and related components.
  • Work with fabrication teams on nanoscale device design, lithography, and testing.
  • Develop and implement simulation models for quantum circuits and semiconductor behavior under various operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (materials science, cryogenics, electronics, and software) to integrate devices into scalable quantum architectures.
  • Conduct experiments to validate theoretical models and refine device performance.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in semiconductor physics, quantum computing platforms (superconducting, spin qubits, photonic), and cryogenic systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

    Physics, Applied Physics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering

    , or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • Strong foundation in

    semiconductor physics, quantum mechanics, and electronic device design

    .
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication techniques (lithography, etching, deposition) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with modeling/simulation tools such as

    COMSOL, SPICE, MATLAB, or Python-based frameworks

    .
  • Familiarity with quantum computing concepts, including

    qubits, quantum gates, coherence, and error correction

    .
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments and with lab instrumentation (e.g., cryostats, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in Python based implementation of quantum frameworks.
