Role Summary

The Security Presales Consultant/Engineer will be a critical bridge between Sales and Technical Delivery, leveraging deep technical knowledge of network and endpoint security solutions to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will be a customer-facing technical expert responsible for qualifying leads, designing tailored security architectures, conducting product demonstrations, and technically supporting the sales team throughout the entire sales lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

I. Technical Solution Design & Consulting

  • Customer Requirement Analysis: Engage with prospective clients to understand their business challenges, existing network architecture, and specific security requirements related to firewalls, endpoint protection, and network access.
  • Solution Architecture: Design and architect comprehensive cybersecurity solutions utilizing technologies like Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Unified Threat Management (UTM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)/Endpoint Security, and Network Access Control (NAC).
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) & Demonstration: Plan, set up, and execute compelling technical demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concepts (PoC) to showcase the value and capabilities of the proposed solutions.
  • Technical Authority: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the sales team, partners, and customers.

II. Sales Enablement & Proposal Management

  • RFP/RFI Response: Lead the technical content creation for Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and Statement of Work (SOW) documents, ensuring all technical requirements are addressed accurately and persuasively.
  • Bill of Materials (BoM) & Effort Estimation: Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BoM), license requirements, and service effort estimates (costing) for proposed solutions.
  • Presentation Delivery: Create and deliver professional, high-impact technical presentations and solution pitches to diverse audiences, including C-level executives, IT Managers, and Security Administrators.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed on competitor product offerings and market trends to effectively position the company's solutions as the preferred choice.

III. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Expertise

  • Knowledge Transfer: Provide continuous technical enablement and training to the sales team on new product features, security trends, and solution updates.
  • Handover: Work closely with the Post-Sales/Delivery team to ensure a smooth transition of the project, including clarity on the proposed solution, scope, and technical commitments.
  • Certifications: Maintain relevant vendor certifications and industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Cisco CCNA Security, CISSP Associate).

Endpoint Security

Solid understanding of Endpoint Protection (EPP) and EDR concepts, including threat hunting and incident response workflows.

CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, Symantec

Network Access Control (NAC)

Experience in designing and deploying NAC solutions for wired and wireless networks, including 802.1X, profiling, and posture assessment.

Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, FortiNAC

Data Security

Conceptual and practical knowledge of DLP strategies (network, endpoint, cloud) and security best practices.

Forcepoint, Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview

Soft Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and active listening skills. Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant value propositions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a technical role, with at least 2-3 years in a Presales/Consulting capacity focused on cybersecurity.
  • One or more relevant industry certifications (e.g., Security+, CCNP Security, PCNSE, CISSP, etc.) is a strong plus.
