• Job Description: Seasoning R&D Executive Job Title: Seasoning R&D Executive / R&D Technologist Department: Research & Development 1. Job Purpose To develop new seasoning blends, improve existing formulations, conduct trials, and ensure that all products meet taste, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements. Support production for seamless scale-up of seasonings. 2. Key Responsibilities-: A. New Product Development (NPD) Develop new seasoning blends for snacks, namkeen, culinary, instant mixes, and flavour applications. Create spice blends, masalas, spray-dried flavours, grill/smoke blends, etc. Conduct multiple lab trials to achieve the desired taste profile, aroma, colour, and stability. B. Formulation & Standardization Prepare seasoning formulas using spices, oleoresins, flavours, emulsifiers, anti-caking agents, acidity regulators, etc. Maintain accurate formulation sheets and batch records. Ensure cost-optimized formulations without compromising quality. C. Sensory Evaluation Conduct panel testing for taste, aroma, mouthfeel, flavour release. Compare competitive samples and improve taste performance. Maintain sensory evaluation reports. D. Production & Scale-up Support Support plant trials during commercial production of seasonings. Resolve any issues in blending, mixing, flavour release, stability, or color. Train production staff on new formulations and SOPs. E. Quality & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, and customer specifications. Test seasoning stability (shelf-life, moisture, caking tendency). Work with QC for raw material approval. F. Documentation Maintain formulation sheets, cost sheets, and R&D reports. Prepare customer samples with proper labels and documentation. Maintain R&D lab sample inventory. 3. Skills Required Strong knowledge of spices, extracts, oleoresins, flavours, acidity regulators, stabilizers. Understanding of flavour technology (top notes, base notes, enhancers). Lab skills: weighing, blending, sensory evaluation, moisture testing. Creativity in developing taste profiles for snacks and seasonings. Knowledge of food regulations (FSSAI).Good communication and record-keeping. 4. Education & Experience B.Tech / B.Sc Food Technology / Biotechnology / Chemistry 1-3 years experience in seasonings, flavours, spice blends, snacks R&D preferred. Freshers with strong interest in R&D can also apply (depending on company). 5.
