SDE 2 Backend

As a Software Development Engineer II at Hiver, you will have a critical role in building and scaling our product to thousands of users globally. You will work on complex technical challenges such as making the architecture scalable to handle growing traffic, building frameworks to monitor and improve system performance, and enhancing reliability and performance. Your responsibilities will include: - Owning the complete product lifecycle, from defining the right product features for customers, system improvements, and addressing tech debt, to deciding the technical approach, sizing up the work and effort, and forming the release strategy. - Acting as a role model for ensuring code quality at Hiver by actively participating in code reviews across multiple projects. - Coaching junior engineers with code comments, documents, and presentations, and promoting the best coding and testing practices across the team. - Demonstrating a track record of assessing the expected time of arrival (ETA) for large and complex projects accurately and working with the team to meet timelines with high confidence. - Engaging in brainstorming sessions to understand problems thoroughly, crafting innovative solutions through thoughtful design, developing the system with precision, and overseeing a successful release. - Instrumenting and troubleshooting distributed systems. Qualifications we are looking for: - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a backend developer in Python or other backend scripting languages (Node.js, PHP, Ruby). - Solid understanding of data structures/algorithms, low-level design, and system design. - Experience in building and maintaining production-grade services used by a significant number of active users/customers. - Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) with some experience with NoSQL databases. - Experience working with distributed systems. - Experience working with cloud platform providers such as AWS and GCP. - Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.,
