Role Overview: As a Scrum Lead at American Airlines, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can create a meaningful impact while continuously growing and learning. Your role will involve optimizing the flow of value from idea generation to release, coaching your team to deliver high-value items, promoting transparency, enabling the practice of Professional Scrum, and fostering continuous learning and improvement. You will also serve as an internal trainer, coach Product Owners/Managers, and facilitate self-organization within your team. Key Responsibilities: - Optimize the flow of value from generation of ideas to release - Coach your team(s) to create high-value items and eliminate rework and waste - Promote transparency on barriers to change and progress - Enable your team(s) to practice Professional Scrum and other agile techniques - Cultivate a habit of continuous learning, experimentation, and improvement - Coach your team(s) to understand and practice new ways of working - Serve as internal trainers contributing to the learning and development of one or more team(s) - Coach Product Owners/Managers with techniques for establishing empirical product planning - Maintain, share, and promote information radiators for inspection and adaptation - Coach teams to self-organize and facilitate events as necessary Qualifications Required: - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience - 4+ years of relevant work experience in an agile environment - Experience coaching agile methodologies to team and stakeholders - Skills and knowledge of servant leadership, conflict resolution, empowerment, and transparency - Ability to promote a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally Additional Details: - Preferred qualifications include experience driving adoption of Agile methodologies in a cross-functional organization, superior analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated experience with continuous integration/delivery, participation in scaled agile frameworks, and holding a recognized Scrum certification - Infrastructure knowledge, performance metrics tracking, ITIL Certification, experience with Azure DevOps Boards and ServiceNow, and physical ability to perform essential job functions are also valued - Effective communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization are essential (Note: The physical ability necessary to perform the essential functions of the position will be evaluated through an interactive process if required by the HR team) Join American Airlines and embrace a rewarding career where you can make a significant difference while being your authentic self.
