Job Summary

As Sales & Support Manager for Education Sector at Advancetech Controls, you will be responsible for driving sales and providing technical support for mechanical engineering laboratory equipment across India. You will work with leading brands including P.A. Hilton, Armfield, and other premium manufacturers of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, strength of materials, and mechanical testing equipment. This role requires strong mechanical engineering background, understanding of educational laboratory requirements, and ability to provide both pre-sales consultancy and post-sales technical support to universities and technical institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Drive sales of mechanical engineering laboratory equipment including P.A. Hilton, Armfield, and other premium brands across Indian educational institutions
• Develop and maintain relationships with IITs, NITs, central universities, state universities, polytechnics, and private engineering colleges
• Identify new opportunities in education sector and expand market presence for laboratory equipment solutions
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and conduct product demonstrations for faculty and laboratory heads
• Handle tender submissions, respond to RFQs, and manage GeM (Government e-Marketplace) quotations
• Achieve sales targets and revenue goals for education products across India
• Participate in education exhibitions, faculty development programs, and technical workshops

Technical Support & Customer Service

• Provide comprehensive pre-sales technical consultancy including laboratory planning, equipment selection, and curriculum alignment
• Coordinate installation, commissioning, and testing of laboratory equipment at customer sites
• Oversee post-sales support including maintenance, calibration, spare parts supply, and repair coordination
• Conduct faculty training sessions and student demonstrations on equipment operation and experimental procedures
• Handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of technical and service issues
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, service activities, and customer feedback

Product & Technical Expertise

• Develop expertise in mechanical engineering laboratory equipment including:

- Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulics (flow measurement, pumps, turbines, Reynolds apparatus)

- Heat Transfer (conduction, convection, radiation, heat exchangers)

- Thermodynamics (Rankine cycle, refrigeration, IC engines)

- Strength of Materials (tensile testing, bending, torsion, impact)

- Theory of Machines (mechanisms, vibrations, balancing, governors)

- Structures (beams, trusses, frames, arches)

• Understand experimental procedures, theory, and learning outcomes for each equipment
• Stay updated on AICTE curriculum requirements and NBA accreditation standards
• Work closely with P.A. Hilton, Armfield, and other OEMs for advanced technical support

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, procurement, logistics, and finance for order execution
• Liaise with OEMs and international partners for warranty, spare parts, and technical troubleshooting
• Prepare periodic sales reports, customer visit reports, and market intelligence
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline tracking

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with practical laboratory experience
• Experience with fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, strength of materials, or theory of machines
• Excellent sales and business development skills with proven track record in education sector
• Strong customer relationship management and communication skills with academic institutions
• Ability to understand curriculum requirements and provide appropriate laboratory solutions
• Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage pan-India territory
• Willingness to travel extensively across India (60-70% travel expected)
• Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and technical documentation
• Knowledge of GeM portal, tender processes, and government procurement procedures

Educational & Professional Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Must have strong mechanical engineering background)
• 5-10 years of experience in sales and technical support of engineering laboratory equipment or scientific instruments
• Prior experience with P.A. Hilton, Armfield, TecQuipment, or similar laboratory equipment manufacturers preferred
• Experience working with educational institutions (IITs, NITs, universities, polytechnics) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of AICTE curriculum, NBA accreditation requirements, and laboratory standards
• Teaching or faculty experience in mechanical engineering laboratory is a plus
